Hello Sir, Madam, or Small Child. My name is Lewis Board. I would like to demonstrate how the “Bristle Brush A-Lot” can make your life so much easier. And if you order now, you’ll also get the roto-attachment, a $19.95 value, free! It’s at this point in the dream that I wake up screaming. Then, drenched in sweat, I realize I’m not a door-to-door brush salesman, but the Administrator of Little Hands Montessori, A Toddler Home. But with the life I’ve led, it’s sometimes easy to get confused. Like Miss Katie, I am also a San Diego Native. I grew up in the neighborhoods of Mira Mesa (it was much nicer in the early 70’s). As a young boy, I cut lawns and washed cars for extra money. Then I got a paper route. By 14, I was washing dishes in a local restaurant. At 16 I got a job at a K-Mart, and spent a few years in the retail industry. I’ve even done some time at the Sony Factory. But most of my work has been in the Hotel-Restaurant industry (nearly 20 years). I even started a consulting business that did “secret shopping” of restaurants, hotels, and bars. I was even a stand-up comic for a few years! I’m currently I Licensed Realtor and Notary and run a Vacation Rental. When Marijane and I began dating in December of 1995, my involvement with MCDC was minimal. But as all my hair-brained schemes fell by the wayside, my involvement with the schools increased. When we purchased the property that would become Little Hands Montessori in August of 2006, I was picked to be the on-site administrative guy. It works out great, because once the children go home (or to nap) after 12:15 PM, I am free to pursue my other activities. I have completed training in the Montessori Toddler Teaching Program from the North American Montessori Center. So as you can see, I stay busy. I look forward to serving you and your family for years to come. And hopefully one day the brush-salesman dream will fade away. |
