I am a native San Diegan. I attended elementary, junior high and high school in Point Loma, where I was a member of the tennis and gymnastics team. I also performed in the school orchestra playing in the cello section. My other extracurricular activities included Girl Scouts, Kanoi Club, classical ballet and piano lessons. Growing up in a family which was predominantly in the field of teaching, I followed suit at San Diego State University and UCSD, earning my degrees in Child Development, Computers in Education Certificate and various Montessori workshops/training at Mission Bay Montessori Academy. While teaching and assisting in administration at Mission Bay Montessori, I had the opportunity to develop one of the first Montessori computer and music program's for elementary ages, as well as teaching private piano and lessons. I have three wonderful children, who were afforded a Montessori education. Two have graduated from college, LMU and Cornell and the youngest is in her freshmen year at Dominican BFA Lines Ballet Program. |
