Hi Everyone, When I was much younger I wanted to be an actress, never a teacher. But, after I finished school and college, I decided to go around the world. I made it to Paris, Stockholm, Rome, Istanbul and Ankara to mention a few. I worked in the business world and then my 1st husband introduced me to the peaceful world of a Montessori Education! I fell in love with it! It seemed to me an answer to world peace! A couple of years later as a widow in London I took the AMI Montessori training. I worked for a year after that at the training center itself, as an assistant to the AMI trainer, Mrs. Patell. Eventually I came to America and opened up my own school. It was my first “baby”. It is still going 37 years later. A very interesting documentary was filmed at my school called “Follow the Child”. It featured footage of Dr. Maria Montessori and her son Mario Montessori as well as many great advocates and trainers of Dr. Montessori’s work. I was thrilled that my little school was chosen to be the example for the primary aged children. The film is now used in the Montessori training centers through out the world. When I had children of my own I sold the school and eventually moved south to San Diego. I met Marijane and her wonderful little school, MCDC, in 1999 and have been here ever since. I have remarried a wonderful man and have devoted myself to my 4 loves, Montessori, my 6 grandchildren, my church and my husband. Miss Angela |
